Worship Music

I don't know about you, but I love worship music. When the world feels like it is caving in- I place my eyes on Jesus, sit still, and turn on my worship playlist. The Lord asked me to share a few of my favorite songs and what he taught me through them. my prayer is that He will speak to you like He has so graciously spoken to me.

Tremble

In all honesty, I have been in a season where I have felt sometimes defeated and discouraged. I have felt the pressures of what social media and blogging can bring to the table. Even though it has not been an easy journey, I have learned so much about being dependent on our Heavenly Father. I have spent so much time sitting at the feet of The Lord in desperation to hear His voice and know Him more. I have learned that in these times of feeling discouraged, all I have to do is look at Jesus. There is power in the Name of Jesus. The lyrics to this song say:

Your name is a light that the shadows can't deny
Your name cannot be overcome
Your name is alive forever lifted high
Your name cannot be overcome

His name is light. His name is victorious. His name is living in each of us. When I play this song, I am reminded of how powerful of a God we serve. I am reminded to focus on Jesus and Him alone. I know that in Him I am not defeated rather victorious. I'm not discouraged but encouraged because I am a beautiful daughter of Christ. He is a powerful God!

Reckless love

Before I knew Jesus, I was insecure and felt unworthy of His love. Oh how this statement is beyond false. He loves me and you more than we could ever imagine. He hand crafted me in my mother's womb. He has chosen me before I was even born. He has been chasing after my heart ever since I was a baby, and He has done the same for you. He is beyond in love you. You are a treasure in His eyes. The lyrics say:

Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God
Oh, it chases me down, fights 'til I'm found, leaves the ninety-nine

When I listen to this song, I am reminded of how loving our Father is. He chases me and you down. He cares for you. He loves you. He fights for you. He delights in spending time with you. The song continues with :

There's no wall You won't kick down
Lie You won't tear down
Coming after me

He is recklessly coming after you. He is madly in love with you, and there is nothing you have done that will hinder Him from fighting for you. Today, be reminded that you are the most beautiful son or daughter of Christ, who our Father is well pleased.

Head to heart

I grew up in the church knowing all about our Heavenly Father. I would go to Young Life, have my quiet time some mornings, and  go to church on Sundays. On the outside, it probably looked like I was a great Christian, but on the inside I was dying. I finally realized that doing all of this was not enough. I was practicing religion instead of relationship. We have a Father who is alive and wants to be in relationship with us. I love this song because it talks about the journey from our heads to our hearts. The Lyrics say:

I open up to you
This love that makes me new
Oh may my heart receive
This love that carries me

From the head to the heart
You take me on a journey
Of letting go
And getting lost in you

There is nothing like experiencing His tangible love for us. It is a journey of transformation. It doesn't have to happen over night. All He wants is for us to be raw and real with Him. He wants us to treat Him like we treat our best friends, spouses, or parents. He wants us to sit and talk with Him, and when we do that He will do the rest!
